Gather your guests and let us host you in Ledger’s private “Macomber Room.” Featuring a private bar, beautiful picture windows, and historic appointments, this private dining room can seat up to 50 guests for a sit-down dinner or 80 for a cocktail reception. Our goal is to give your event a personal touch. Choose from a variety of our menus including family-style, plated and hors d’oeuvres or work with Chef Gursha to create a menu that reflects your individual style and taste. The Macomber Room is available for brunch and lunch events as well as dinner events. We specialize in weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate outings, baby & bridal showers and everything in between.
Looking for a unique wedding venue steeped in New England history? For larger groups & weddings we are happy to accommodate full restaurant buyouts which gives you access to the private room, full restaurant and patio! Have your ceremony in the Macomber room, which can seat approximately 85 guests for a seated ceremony, and then move over the main dining room for dinner and dancing. Ledger is proud to have recently received the BONS award for best indoor venue for a restaurant on the North Shore!
For something more intimate, we also offer unique tasting menus designed specifically for you by Chef, Daniel Gursha and Sommelier, Scott Lefler at our Chef's Table. This custom combination of wine and food inspired by the seasons of New England is perfect for any special occasion for groups of 8-10 guests. Events Director
Ashleigh Moraga joined the Ledger team in 2018; a move that brought both her career and personal life back to her North Shore roots and passion for events and marketing. Born and raised in Lynnfield, Moraga left home to head south for college, graduating from The University of Tampa in 2010. After college, she returned back to New England, launching her career in event planning for an IT start-up in Boston.
Clairemarie Bergstrom

Born and raised in Peabody, MA, Clairemarie Bergstrom realized her love for sweets at a young age. At fourteen she landed her first job as a donut bagger and cashier working at Peabody’s Brooksby Farm, made famous by their Apple Cider Donuts. Working with donuts all day, Clairemarie quickly recognized her passion for baking, and within two years she earned the position of Bakery Manager. In this role, and for the next six years, Clairemarie played a crucial part in creating people’s quintessential New England fall memories.
Daniel Gursha

Chef Daniel Gursha first fell in love with food amongst the simmering pots and exotic flavors of his Egyptian grandmother’s home cooking in West Roxbury, uniquely contrasted by his summers spent fishing on Cape Cod.
Kelsey Tenore
General Manager
A Shirley, Massachusetts native, Kelsey Tenore began her culinary career at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After receiving her Associates of Culinary Arts in 2013 and working in kitchens throughout Greater Boston, Kelsey was eager to continue her training and returned to the CIA for her Bachelor's Degree of Business Management.
Matt O'Neil

When Matt O’Neil opened Ledger in Salem in 2017, he was not a newcomer to the North Shore culinary scene. Raised in Swampscott, O’Neil spent his childhood in the area, and launched his career as a chef in nearby Martha’s Vineyard, staying around Boston as he continued to garner experience and knowledge in the food and beverage industry. With a decade under his belt at O’Neil’s Lynn flagship, The Blue Ox, opening Ledger Restaurant & Bar in Salem was very much a natural move for O’Neil, and the latest hallmark of his deep roots and respected role in the scene.
Scott Lefler
Wine Director
Scott Lefler was born and raised amongst the creeks, trees, and hills of northeast Kansas. Having public school teachers as parents, exploration was encouraged for him at a young age. Indoors, music was a fundamental element within his close-knit family and became his first great pursuit. During studies of music and trumpet at the University of Kansas, Scott found work in restaurants and bars as a way to make ends meet. However, it wasn’t until working with star Kansas Chef, Ken Baker, that he learned how both challenging and rewarding hospitality can be when there is a compelling story to be told on the plate or in the glass. After receiving a wine book around this time (with lots of pictures) his interest in beverages soared.
